Commercial Photographer Peter Olsen – There’s no better time to give thanks than right now…on Thanksgiving Day weekend. I think it’s safe to say that most of us have a lot of things to be thankful for, but tend to focus on the negative, at times. I know, I’ve been guilty of that in the past and it’s time for an attitude check-up, especially now that we’re ready to blow another year into the stratosphere.

“Blow another Year into the Stratosphere”

The foliage is displaying its kaleidoscope of vibrant colours and pumpkins are turning their familiar, if not embarrassing shade of orange.

My Professional Life

Personally, I have a lot to be thankful for; first and foremost, my wonderful family. not only are they understanding of my idiosyncrasies; they’re also tolerant of them.  As for the professional part of my life; I also have a lot to be thankful for. For 37 years, I had the privilege of being the morning-show radio host on Radio NL in Kamloops, BC. Over the decades, I got to know thousands of people and just like my family, they were also very understanding and tolerant of my antics, especially on April Fools Day.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve also been lucky enough to own my own companies, Peter Olsen Photography and more recently, Olsen Imaging.

Photography has always been a labour of love for me and the transition of turning it into a business has been most rewarding. I won’t even begin to try to mention all the clients and companies I’m thankful for because I would no doubt inadvertently leave some out. Suffice it to say that I’ve had the pleasure of working with clients from small Ma & Pa operations to international companies; close to home and in places like the UK and Geneva, not the forget the dozens of not-for-profit organizations, that do so much good for their communities. If you’re looking for a friendly and affordable Commercial Photographer, please contact me at Olsen Imaging.

Tending to Your Garden

Something I learned early on is the importance of building solid relationships, based on honesty and trust. Many of my clients have become friends, which is the highest compliment anyone can pay me. While it may sound trite and worn; to loosely paraphrase Chris Prentiss; a relationship is a lot like a garden, it needs care every day or it dries up.

Comfort Food and Comfort in Gratitude and Thanks

With another year just around the corner, I look to the future with optimism and promise to raise the bar even higher in serving my clients photographic needs. Now, go pick some pumpkins for that Thanksgiving pie or finally go on that Fall Wagon-ride

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and go easy on the bird and stuffing!
